Groupe Renault Romania supports the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and made available to hospitals in Romania, in the form of sponsorship, in agreement with the Ministry of Health, 150 vehicles Dacia and Renault.

The sponsorship was done in two tranches, the first time being made available to the military cadres 100 cars, and then another 50. The cars are used for medical and auxiliary personnel travel, in emergencies identified by the national authorities.

Seeing that the first fleet of 100 cars is reaching its goal, the factory representatives announced shortly: “To further support the need for medical and auxiliary personnel to travel, Groupe Renault Romania supplements the number of vehicles available to the Ministry of Health by 50 of Renault electric vehicles. The first fleet of 100 cars arrived in Romanian hospitals well. We also thank the network of dealers who has mobilized exemplarily in this solidarity action ”.

The "Twizy Contest 2019" competition was organized by the Renault Group in Paris and was a challenge for students from 50 countries to use their creativity to find solutions for the future of mobility using the Twizy platform.

Transilvania University of Brasov announces another remarkable result of Brasov students. The team of 6 students (2 doctoral students and 4 master students) from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, coordinated by professor Horia Abăitancei, won on Friday, 5h of October 2019, in the world final of the "Twizy Contest 2019" competition organized by the Renault Group, the prize for the Best Prototype. The prototype realized by the students from Brasov consists of a Maneuverability Gaining System (MGS), which in addition to the classic displacement functions, has 10 additional functions in all possible directions: reduced radius travel, diagonal movement, rotation on the spot etc.

The University of Transylvania participated in the national stage held in November 2018 of the TwizyContest competition with three teams. The winning team qualified for the international stage that took place in Paris on 5th of October 2019, at the headquarters of the Renault research center - Techno Center Renault. Brasov students competed with teams from France, Russia, Turkey, South Korea and Brazil.

According to the regulation, Renault Technologie Roumanie made available to the winning team the Renault Twizy vehicle and the University financially supported the implementation of the technical idea and finalized the prototype. The competition consisted of presenting the prototype in front of the jury: the general solution, the technical solution demonstrating the functionality of the prototype. The prototype made by the students from Brasov proved to be the perfect functionality in front of the jury and the assistance.
